Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of Mercy,
This weekend we are celebrating the Feast of the Most Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. We do well to take Jesus’ family as the model for every family. Each member of a family is precious just as each one of us is precious in the sight of God. We, then, are called to love, help and respect all the members of our family.
We know that no family is so blessed as to be perfect and trouble free. Every family has its challenges, its ups and downs. But if we stay together and pray for one another then we will get through the difficult times. On this Feast of the Holy Family, let us dedicate all our families to God and believe that Mary and Joseph are interceding for us.
Moving forward, we are about to open the first page of our new 2020 calendar. Another year is over, hopefully it was a good and blessed year. We give thanks to God for all the blessings we received these past 12 months, as well as the challenges that made us grow to be better people. May this New Year bring us renewed energy to face whatever may come in the future.
I pray that this New Year of 2020 will open new ways and new possibilities to make our parish even more vibrant. May we be a faith community where we all can experience love, mercy and compassion. May we truly embody and live out the prayers we offer and the readings we hear at Mass.
From our home to your home, I wish you all a BLESSED and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
