May 13, 2018 – From the Desk of the Pastor

Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of Mercy:

Fr. Marty JacintoI hope all is well and enjoying this very nice weather.

This past weekend was very busy but full of grace. We had our last, but not the least, group of young people who received the Holy Communion for the first time and the Sacrament of Confirmation. What a great blessing it was! Surely the Holy Spirit was strongly felt in all of these celebrations. Once again, congratulations to all of you!

It was also nice to see people from Our Lady of Sorrows and Our Lady of Czestochowa at the Confirmation Mass.

As we move on towards Pentecost, we ask the Holy Spirit to pour out gifts that we need in our journey in this life. We say “Amen” to the prayer of Jesus Christ for us in the Gospel. We say “Amen” that we may truly be one, our joy may be complete, we may be protected from evil and may be consecrated in truth. These are the things we already have been asking God in our prayer, but I urge you to keep asking them because these are the very things that we badly need. Let us not stop praying. We have heard it last week that apart from God we can do nothing.

Brothers and sisters, personally, I pray all these for all of you.

I want to thank all those who have help put together the Flores De Mayo (crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary). Thank you Multi Cultural Ministry, Rosary Society, First Communicants, Salubong Angels and Holy Name Society.

Also, I want to do a shout out to the Heads of the different ministries in the parish to please have the display of the ministry you belong to ready soon. I am reminding you that the Ministry Fair is coming up. It will be on June 3rd. For more information kindly contact John Flora, our Parish Pastoral Council Chairman. His email address is: ms7choir@yahoo.com.

I want to end this short message by wishing all mothers, grandmothers, godmothers and all those who assume a mother’s role a HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

God bless you all!

Love,
+Father Marty
