July 8, 2018 – From the Desk of the Pastor

Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of Mercy:

Fr. Marty JacintoI hope you are dealing well with the heat wave this past week and in the weeks to come.

I came back with two back to back weddings. One was a twenty-fifth anniversary of J.R. and Vilma Aborde and the other was a nuptial of Michael Walker and Justine Unarce. To the two couples: Congratulations! May you have many happy and blessed years ahead.

Also, two Sundays ago there was another couple who celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary, Jun and Grace Arceo. Congratulations to you Jun and Grace!

I take this opportunity to applaud and salute all married couples that endured all the challenges and hardships in bringing up their families. And despite those hardships they are trying their best to live up to what they have committed to and vowed to on the day of their wedding: “… to have and to hold for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish until death.” It is amazing to see young people braving themselves to enter into marriage. And I encourage every couple who are not married yet to come and ask to God’s blessing with the Sacrament of Matrimony. God will pour out more blessings on you and your family if you do so. Do not hesitate to approach the Church for this.

Two weeks ago, the Vacation Bible School went so well with the leadership of our Director of Faith Formation Jeng Villa together with energetic youths as her team. I want to thank them for the hard work they put in yet full of joy. May they be energized more in the next year and years ahead. I also thank the parents who entrusted their children to be part of the VBS. I am pretty sure their children have learned more about faith and had fun. And last but not the least, dear children I thank you for your participation. God willing, we look forward to see you again next year.

Other than asking you folks to check out our bulletin every week for all the goings on in the parish, I wish you all a restful summer time and be faithful to your calling as children of God by going to Church every Sunday wherever you may be.

Thank you so much and God bless you all!

Love,
+Father Marty
