July 22, 2018 – From the Desk of the Pastor

Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of Mercy:

Fr. Marty JacintoGreetings in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ!

Summer heat us really here. While we may be enjoying the summer break, I beg you not to neglect your health. I have heard and seen people suffering from heat strokes. Hydrate yourselves and stay in cool places. Do not underestimate these simple and basic warnings.

This past Monday I had a joy of being with our altar servers’ getaway together with their moderator Father Nol and some parents and chaperones. It is one of the ways we can thank our ministers of the altar for the services they render to our community. May they continue to be enthused in their service and, who knows, may some of them will be up on the altar someday as priests. So, let us support them with our prayers and love. To their parents and guardians, thank you!

While we are still in school break, I would like to call the attention of parents and guardians whose children are not in the Sacramental preparations yet. If you have children who are in first grade and above and not in the program yet for First communion, please contact our Director of Faith Formation Jeng Villa. We don’t want your children to be left out and then blame you later.

Two weeks ago, our Music Director Michael, Krystelle, Liam, John Pio and I attended the annual National Association of Pastoral Musicians convention in Baltimore, Maryland. It was a five-day conference regarding our Liturgy, specifically our music. It always is a very good time of spiritual renewal of what we do in the Liturgy and updating our music. We take away a lot from it. We came back renewed, inspired and energized in our work for you. I ask you to support our music ministry and pray that our community will be a community God wants us to be.

Thank you so much and God bless you all!

Love,
+Father Marty
