October 22, 2017 – From the Desk of The Pastor

Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of Mercy:

Fr. Marty JacintoGreetings in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ!

We can tell that Fall season is here. Leaves are changing colors and daylight seem to be shorter. It reminds us that change is inevitable in all kind of things and walks of life. In our community of faith change is apparent. And, as always, if there are changes, it is always for the better.

I am forever grateful for your support because it made it possible for me to do things around. Stay tuned then, for what will come to better our community.

Our gospel this weekend speaks about rendering to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God. I am pretty sure that you know and experience by now how good God is to us. The fact that we are still here in this world is a sure sign of God’s love for us. Continue to do what is good and right. And I encourage you to increase your contribution to your church. As you can see, we need to do more repairs and beautification of our church building. Let us help one another. Be more generous just like your God the Father is generous!

This past Sunday there was an Internet Safety talk given by Karen Clark from the Archdiocese of Newark. Thanks to the invitation of Jeng Villa, our Faith Formation director. Those who have attended the seminar found it very helpful. They realized how internet can do harm to people and especially to our young people. I encourage all parents and guardians to avail it the next we are going to have it.

I want to make a little correction with regards to our upcoming parish mission. It is going to be a three-day event: December 11, 12, and 13 (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.) Father Johnpaul Cafiero thought that he could start on a Sunday evening without thinking that we have an evening mass here at Our Lady of Mercy. So, pardon my previous announcement.

Before we knew it Advent will be here. Always check out our bulletin for upcoming events.

Thank you and God bless you all!

Love,
+Father Marty
