Mission

The Filipino Apostolate reaffirms our commitment to STEWARDSHIP of Time, Talent, and Treasure by sharing our culture and religious traditions with the faith community at Our Lady of Mercy Parish. We strive to accomplish this mission by weaving these traditions into the larger fabric of parish life and celebration.

History

Organized in the summer of 2001. First activity was San Lorenzo Ruiz Novena and Dinner-Dance in September 2001. Four of original couples retired and/or moved to California, Nevada, upstate New Jersey, and the Philippines.

Religious Traditions

  • San Lorenzo Ruiz Novena – September 20 to 28 @ 8:30 a.m. mass
  • Living Rosary – October 7
  • Christmas Novena (Simbang Gabi) – December 15 to December 23 @ 7 p.m. mass
  • Blessing of Sto. Nino Images (Holy Infant Jesus) – Third Sunday in January 21 @ 12 noon mass
  • Salubong (Easter morning) – April @ 12 noon mass
  • Flores de Mayo (Floral offering) – Second Saturday in May 12 @ 8:30 a.m.
