Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of Mercy:
“Live Christ, Share Christ,” a new way of evangelization to our two parishes, had kicked off this past weekend in the Maria Room. It went well. I am grateful to Father Nol, the organizing team and the speakers who did great job from the preparation to the day of presentation. I commend them into God’s hands that they may continue this good work. Please pass the word to your family, relatives and friends. This is one of the many ways to grow in holiness and participate in God’s call to be witnesses of His love to others.
The “Koffee Klatch” with the Music Ministry went well, as well. I guess we were so immersed in our “klatching” (discussion) that no one ever remembered or dared to take at least one photo for our bulletin. But it was well participated. All members of two choirs (adult and children) were there with the presence of a parent for each child in the choir. I thank all of you for being there and my prayer is that we will soon start all the good and doable proposals for the good of our community. There will be a few groups left for Koffee Klatch. Stay tuned for the announcement.
Please check out our bulletin for more events in our local community and archdiocese. Men’s conference is coming up. So, men of God please make an effort to avail this opportunity. Also, to all married couples who are celebrating significant wedding anniversaries please check out our bulletin board or the parish office. There are scheduled anniversary masses for you at the Basilica Cathedral of Sacred Heart, in Newark.
Our Children’s Liturgy of the Word Ministry is still in need of homilists or presiders. Those of you who want to share your faith to our children please don’t hesitate to volunteer. We are looking for men and women who can tell your faith story and journey to our little ones. Come to me and I will give you work!
To our young folks, (youth and young adult), I am calling you to step up, do something and shake up our communities with your talents and abilities to be light to others. I strongly believe that you have sound ideas on how to build our communities with what you possess. Share it with us. We are here to support you.
Thank you and God bless us all!
Love,
+Father Marty
An Opportunity for All Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
All Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion of our parish are invited to attend a training and updating session sponsored by the Archdiocesan Office of Divine Worship. It will take place Saturday morning, February 25, at the Archdiocesan Center in Newark. The workshop will cover three areas: The Basis of Liturgical Ministry; Home and Hospital Visitation; and the Origin and Role of the Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
This workshop will help those who distribute Holy Communion to improve their ministry and their understanding of the liturgy. We encourage all our Extraordinary Ministers who have not attended this workshop in the past to please join us. We will leave OLM for the workshop at 8 am Saturday, February 25, and return by 1 pm. The parish will cover the registration fee. If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please contact Father Tom by calling the parish office (201-434-7500), sending him at an email (olmchurchmail@gmail.com), or speaking to him after Mass. Don’t miss this workshop, it will not be repeated until the fall of 2017.

Update on Capital Campaign: We Are Living Stones
Last year we did the boiler repair at the school building that cost us $10,075.00. This time, same boiler, there’s more repair to be done and the amount is $8,500.00. Besides this, replaced the boiler (of 1959) for the church and Maria Room. It cost us $38,000. Thank you for your generosity!
