August 13, 2017 – From the Desk of the Pastor

Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of Mercy:

Fr. Marty JacintoWelcome to the Christian world: Jacob Santiago, William Jenson Santiago III and Gabriella Anne Lizares! May God bless and guide you as you grow in knowing and loving Him. Congratulations to the parents and godparents of these children! A simple but very important reminder for you is to not let your children be “spiritually” starved. While you feed them when they get hungry with food, you should try your best to feed them spiritually. And one of the many ways to do that is by bringing them to church and have them receive the sacraments God gave us. As a community, we pray for you that you get all the help you need in bringing your children up to be good Christians.

Before I forget, I want to remind you, dear brothers and sisters that this Tuesday, August 15th, is a Holy Day of obligation, celebrating the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Masses will be offered at 7am, 8:45am and 7pm. Please mark your calendar and relay it to your friends and neighbors.

Last weekend we heard it announced the Live Christ Share Christ seminar for youth. It is a call and an opportunity for our young people to learn more about God and grow spiritually. I encourage you to please sign up. Parents and guardians, please support your children in this.

Also, last weekend I tried to bring everybody’s attention to the reason why we come to church Sunday after Sunday or everyday (to some who can make it to weekday masses). This weekend our readings are telling us to have faith in God. As mentioned many times in different ways, in this age there are those who lost faith in God because of varied reasons people may have, but folks, try God. Try putting your faith in Him and you will see what God can do to you. He will definitely bless you with many things and in a manner you least expect it. You will be surprised!

God bless you all!

Love,
+Father Marty

Summer or Winter Makes No Difference!

As you know, we are now following our summer Mass schedule, Saturday 5 pm, Sunday 8 am, 10 am, 12 noon, and 7 pm. That schedule would normally change in September and we would then follow our winter Mass schedule. However, this will no longer happen. We have decided to keep our current Mass schedule throughout the entire year. Our Mass schedule will continue as it is, Saturday 5 pm, Sunday 8 am, 10 am, 12 noon, and 7 pm. Summer or winter will make no difference, the Mass times will remain the same!

Weekday Mass Schedule

Starting September 1st weekday masses schedule will be the following:
Monday – Friday at 7:00am and 8:30am
Saturday at 8:30am
